Welcome Anthony Alba in Vegas - What happens in Vegas ....

Anthony We would like to welcome a new Master Mixologist to the TALKDRINKS family of bar chefs. Originally from New York, Anthony Alba moved to Las Vegas in 1989. He has been in the food and beverage industry since the tender age of 14. He started his bartending career in 1999 and found a home at the Rio in 2006 as the Property Mixologist. Anthony is now a beverage consultant with his company, Liquidity Global. He creates cocktails, trains beverage staff and works with spirit brands all around the world. His style would be described as cutting edge and heavily influenced in culinary traditions. He has been organizing, competing and hosting competitions in both Flair and Mixology since 2002. Anthony is currently the Vice President for the Nevada Chapter of the United States Bartenders Guild. In his spare time, he likes to dabble in molecular mixology, makes his own wine and beer and even distills his own spirits! Cheers.

Are You Worthy? - Welcome to Miami

How many times have you stood behind the velvet rope outside a club or bar praying to be one of the selected few to be chosen by the almighty doorman? Do you look at yourself in the mirror before you leave and ask yourself "Am I worthy"?
What makes these arrogant guardians of the gate such experts in selecting the ideal club goer to gain access to ....? Is there a school that they attend?

Divas Who Dine - Welcome to Miami

02 I have recently been named "Diva of Spirits" for our local chapter of Divas Who Dine. Divas Who Dine is a social networking group for women; quite a fabulous group of ladies. Our January luncheon was held at Devito Restaurant on South Beach. Bartender extraordinaire, Michael Flannery and I served Partida Passion Margaritas. The ladies loved them!!
I had the opportunity of meeting Michael at a Bombay Saphire Cocktail Competition and I was excited to find out that he was working there. He is a true mixologist and it's refreshing to find someone that takes such pride in his craft.
Devito South Beach is one of the hottest new restaurants on South Beach. The combination of a talented chef executing delicious Italian cuisine and someone like Michael behind the bar, they have the ideal recipe for success! Welcome to Miami - Marita

Partida Passion Margarita
1 lime, freshly squeezed
3/4 oz Partida Agave Nectar
1/2 oz Passion Fruit Nectar
2 oz Partida Blanco Tequila
Combine ingredients, shake and serve over ice.

David_adjusted_2 We are very happy to Welcome a new Bartender to our growing Mixology Family. David is a very talented Bar Chef from Texas and we are looking forward to his input from Austin. As they say,"Everything is Bigger in Texas".

It’s a pleasure to join the TALKDRINKS Crew. I have been in the Austin, TX Bar Scene for over a decade. Texans love Tequila.  Look out for more posts from the Lone Star State. Salud – David

Mario Batali's New Restaurant

Comingsoon_inner_r2_c2 If you are in the Los Angeles area, you must check out Osteria Mozza, Mario Batali's new restaurant. The food is outstanding and Eric Alperin, formerly of Milk and Honey in New York has done an incredible job with the cocktail list. They also have one of the biggest digestive collections in the country.  Cheers – Aisha Sharpe (Contemporary Cocktails, Inc.)

Salud in Chicago

Dsc005671What a great weekend in Chicago. I stopped into Salud Tequila Lounge, one of the premier Tequila bars in the city, and enjoyed a Repo Partida Margarita.  Adam, the bar manager and mixologist, was mixing up his signature drinks and pouring lots of Tequila throughout the evening. He is a really nice guy and wow can he make a drink! I recomme nd stopping in for a Tequila dinner, these are always fun, delicious and informative. Salud has a great atmosphere and a wonderful staff. Here are our a few photos of Adam, Chrissy, and Malanie.  I confessed - Alex

Los Dados in NY

Los_dados_logo Thanks Jacques. This is Willy and I'm happy to be apart of this blog. I see Damian and Alex have introduced some great events in their home towns. Let me recommend one here in NYC. Los Dados is the newest restaurant addition to the Meat Packing District and has partnered with rising star mixologist Gardner Dunn. Gardner has made some of the most inventive and well balanced cocktails I have had in a long time. Gardner understands that with Los Dados’ Mexican menu, he needs to create a balance with his cocktails. Los Dados is one of the best places to get a Partida Margarita in NYC and Gardner is behind the stick on Fridays and Saturdays. Check it out - Willy S
