It's been 2 years since I've had a chance to visit my home, South Africa. It will be interesting to see how the cocktail culture has changed since I've been away. I will have some great stories to tell when I get back. Cheers for now - Jacques

cheers

Hi Gibbs,
It is quite difficult to define South African food. We are very much influenced by many cultures from around the world such as Indian, Portuguese, Italian, British, Dutch and very importantly local African tribes. South Africans love to have “Braai’s” or as it is called here BBQ’s. We throw on pretty much anything that we can onto the BBQ and stand outside and enjoy the company with many Beers, Wines and Cocktails. Due to the Indian and Portuguese influence we like spicey foods like Peri Peri sauce. We enjoy Mediterranean style sea food. You can look up some on-line South African food stores that ship out of LA or San Diego and see what they have to offer. Maybe get some Boerewors for the BBQ and some Nandos Peri Peri sauce. Mostly we like to have fun and enjoy food using the freshest ingredients. I hope this helps. Cheers - Jacques
