The Superbowl is just a few days away, and it's time to plan the party. While beer may be the football fan's traditional drink of choice, this is a
great opportunity to show off your mixing skills and surprise all your friends
with a cocktail. Try out these drink recipes crafted by
NYC’s premiere mixologists and paired with your favorite game-time snack.
Sapphire Red Zone Collins and Red-Hot Wings:
The Tom Collins cocktail
is the ultimate, wildly popular, classic cocktail, and today we give you the updated version with a funky twist. This
Red Zone Collins is the perfect refreshing burst of fresh lemon juice and
cherries, and Sapphire’s 10 botanicals complement the bold flavors of even the
hottest chicken wings. A sip of this cocktail or a bite of a wing – both known
to mirror the thrill of the Red Zone.
Red Zone Collins
1 ¼ parts Bombay
Sapphire
½ part lemon juice
½ part of merlot cherry
nectar/juice/syrup
5 Merlot cherries
1 clove
In a stirring glass, muddle and break clove, then add
Merlot Cherries and lemon juice and muddle again.
Add ice, pour in sapphire
and shake hard. Double strain into a Collins glass over ice and top off with
club soda.
Lucid Fumble Roosky and Rockin’ Nachos:
This next
food and beverage face-off is the product of lots of layers, a truly dynamic
epicurean battle. Lucid absinthe is at the heart of this combination, as the
first absinthe to be legally available in the US, Lucid is gaining substantial
mainstream popularity and this cocktail packs a punch – sure to cool-off your
mouth from even the most zesty, jalapeño-heavy nachos. This unexpected flavor
showdown certainly matches the good ol’ Fumble Roosky - it might look sweet and
innocent but this cocktail is a serious flavor explosion.
Lucid Fumble Roosky
1 oz. Lucid®
Absinthe
½ oz. triple
sec
2 oz.
lemon-lime soda
2 fresh
orange slices (thick cut)
1 mint
sprig
In a
cocktail shaker, add ice, Lucid® Absinthe, triple sec, and a squeeze of orange.
Shake vigorously till ice cold. Pour into a tall glass and top with lemon-lime
soda. Garnish with mint sprig and orange slice.

Punch and Game-time Chili
Grab a cup a chili, and mix up
the perfect drink to wash it down with – a celebratory punch. A true punch is
comprised of five main components: sugar, water, citrus, spice, and alcohol –
and this cocktail classic is all about bringing people together. Phil Ward,
leading New York mixologist created this punch which uses Nicaragua’s best,
Flor de Caña 7 year rum. A good cup of Chili, like punch, is comprised of many
different ingredients. When mixed together, both can create a kaleidoscope of
flavor sure to catch your senses off guard!
Wildcat Punch
4 oz. Flor
de Caña 7-year Grand Reserve
8 sugar cubes
3 oz. club soda
2 oz. lemon
juice
2 tsp peach brandy
2 tsp cinnamon bark syrup
2 oz. Cognac
Method:
- Dissolve the
sugar cubes in 1 oz. of club soda (this generally involves muddling to help
process)
- After the
sugar cubes are muddled/dissolved, add the rest of the ingredients one at a time
and stir as added
- Add ice once
all of the ingredients have been added and stirred
- Stir the
punch until it is chilled
- Strain the punch into a glass or
punch bowl, depending on the size of the portion and top with 2 oz. club
soda
