It's summer and in the spirits world that means one thing; it's time to pack your bags and head to New Orleans for Tales of the Cocktail. From July 20 to 24, NOLA will be overtaken by cocktail enthusiasts, writers, mixologists, brand managers and anyone in the spirits industry.
With seminars like "The Bad Boys of Saloons," "Drinking on Deadline" and "Who's Your Daddy? A Mai Tai Paternity Test," you know you are in for a good time. Seminars highlights new techniques and modern concoctions and praise classic cocktails. Partida Tequila Brand Ambassador, Jacques Bezuidenhuot and Livio Lauro, National President of United States Bartenders Guild, will discuss the delicious combination of Campari, gin and vermouth in "The Negroni: An Iconic Cocktail" seminar. Moderated by Paul Clarke, contributing editor of Imbibe, the seminar highlights the cocktail, its history and the man behind the name, and how the cult classic still influences Italian culture. The panel discussion will take place Thursday, July 12 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at The Queen Anne Ballroom in Hotel Monteleone.
